Tickled Pink - your gay wedding magazine

The idea for a gay wedding magazine was dreamed up by former newspaper editor Sue Briggs and her partner Caroline Harris when they were organising their own civil partnership.

Traditional wedding magazines had simply reminded them that, in their case at least, there was no groom.

Together they contacted and re-contacted hundreds of companies to screen out those who, quite frankly, wanted no part in their day.

The result was Tickled Pink - initially a free magazine in August 2006.

In 2009 Sue teamed up with former newspaper editor and her old colleague Nicola Dufty to relaunch the gay wedding magazine as a fully-fledged, paid-for magazine.

Since then editions of Tickled Pink have been launched in the North West, Yorkshire, the West Midlands, the East Midlands, London/Brighton - with an edition for the Sotuh West due to go on sale in October.

Each magazine is packed with advice for couples who are about to embark on the greatest adventure of all time with details of all the gay-friendly wedding suppliers in your area.

Although there is now a bigger team behind Tickled Pink, the magazine continues to be written by gay people for gay people .. so you can be sure that the help and advice is from the heart.

WHAT YOU THINK OF US

I just happened to come across your site and it looks great. I am a make-up artist based in Cornwall and I have done a few lesbian weddings over the past couple of years and what surprises me is that they phone up and are worried that I may take offence that they are gay. It must be horrible to feel in that position so to have a magazine featuring people who are happy to make their day special is such a fantastic idea.

Just a quick email to thank you for my copy of the new magazine and to say how pleased I am to be part of it – I’m really impressed!  I love the tone of the editorial which has managed  to be informative without being patronising – a rarity in the world of wedding journalism, I find! Wishing you every success with the South West edition of Tickled Pink.
