Hallelujah for kd lang

k d langkd lang might be a little bit chunkier than she once was, but that voice is unmistakable.

And what’s more, judging by her performance at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester last night, she’s back to her most brilliant best.

Admittedly it was Leonard Cohen’s oft-covered Hallelujah that brought down the house – and the audience to its feet – but there were so many moments of sheer bliss like that, that you be hard pressed to name your favourite.

We had the seductive Miss Chatelaine, a dreamy cover of Talking Heads’ Heaven and ever crowd-pleasing Constant Craving.

She spoiled us rotten, teased us with her strap-on banjo, and even gave us slight cause for concern when she slipped on the polished floor.

She looked relaxed. She looked cool. She looked good.

If you are off to see her as part of her Sing It Loud tour, you’re in for a treat.

WHAT YOU THINK OF US

I just happened to come across your site and it looks great. I am a make-up artist based in Cornwall and I have done a few lesbian weddings over the past couple of years and what surprises me is that they phone up and are worried that I may take offence that they are gay. It must be horrible to feel in that position so to have a magazine featuring people who are happy to make their day special is such a fantastic idea.

Just a quick email to thank you for my copy of the new magazine and to say how pleased I am to be part of it – I’m really impressed!  I love the tone of the editorial which has managed  to be informative without being patronising – a rarity in the world of wedding journalism, I find! Wishing you every success with the South West edition of Tickled Pink.

Congratulations to all of you on a great magazine. I hope it is really successful. We photograph our first civil partnership in November. We cannot wait.

We think it's great news that there will finally be a magazine dedicated to the gay wedding community. We wish you all the best for the magazine.
